PRAYERS FOR CANCER

Every night I pray for friends of mine who are fighting cancer .. and I pray that God will give the scientists and doctors, the ability to find the cure for this devastating disease.

If you believe in the power of prayer, please include my friends:
Mary T, Teri S, Marty M, Sterling H.

If you know someone who is battling this disease, send me their name and last name initial and I'll keep this list updated ..

If you are willing to add these people to your prayers, please let me know.

4 Weeks - November 15th

It's been one month since my new hip was installed and I'm doing great. There are some precautions I must take until the scar tissue has woven its web .. 6 weeks after surgery. I'm still having a little weakness in my muscles when going upstairs, but I'm working on it. My next checkup is at 6 weeks and after that, I'm not sure how long I'll have to wait. I know there's an annual checkup for a couple of years but may have one at six months .. we'll see.

I've just about finished my Christmas card for this year .. it used to be great working on it with Rich but now I just have to go it on my own ...

I've met a lady I worked with when I worked here 35 years ago ... she has macular degeneration now so I told her I'd pick her up every so often and we'll have a trip to Starbucks for a chat. There were some awesome deer around her house when I was there .. and as soon as I have a little more time, I'll post a couple of pics here.

I've also been visiting with a long-time friend at Starbucks regularly. Our two couples (both our husbands are dead now) went to every 49er home game from about '75 to '85 ... we'd get there three and a half hours early and set up our table and chairs (and our Greek and British flags) ... and start our feast with hors d'oeuvres and bloody marys ... followed by salad and BBQd entree with wine. After the game, we'd have our dessert and liqueur or brandy and wait until most of the traffic thinned out. It was so much fun .. we even got our photo in one of the San Francisco papers. Good memories!!

I'll try to get the photos up tomorrow ... don't hold me to it though!
