Who doesn't like old newspaper clippings?

I came to the U.S. in May 1964 .. straight to San Francisco. Lived with my big sister until she got married. Two years after my arrival, I broke off my engagement to my first husband (Russ "The Moose" Syracuse, SF Disc Jockey) and returned home with a broken heart. The local newspaper learned of my two years in the U.S. and thought my story would make a good human-interest article. And this is what they did:

I became quite the celebrity - all my college friends and former co-workers saw it - and my parents fielded a lot of questions from customers (they owned a sweets and tobacco shop in Lytham Square).

I finally laminated the article but, as you can see, I didn't laminate it soon enough. I hope you can read it - it's quite interesting in a time-capsule sort of way.
