I'm in South Africa at the moment ... having been to Botswana, Zambia and a quick trip into Zimbabwe to see Victoria Falls ... I am opening another "African Scene" blog to post all my photos from this wonderful area so stay tuned.

Last Sunday, May 2nd we soared with Airship Ventures in their huge blimp, over San Francisco. The cabin has all window seats and the views are absolutely spectacular. We had originally booked this trip for Valentine's Day 2009 but with one thing and another - weather/work schedules we had to wait - and the wait was well worth it. We couldn't have had a better day. The photos speak for themselves - Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Downtown. Click on the photos to enlarge them ... some of them are incredibly detailed. I particularly like the one with both bridges in it and the City in between ...

I lived in the Bay Area after my husband died (2007) until January 2015 when I moved back to Oregon to live near my BFF and her family in Salem. I am happy here, have made friends already and the future looks better than it did for the last few years.
